Cramming feels productive but it doesn't work, and the research backs that up. Left alone, most new information fades fast: this is the forgetting curve pictured on the left, first mapped out by the psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus in the 1880s. Each time you revisit something before it's fully faded, the curve gets flatter and the memory sticks longer. That's why our sessions are built around spaced repetition rather than one-off explanations.
We also lean on a few other principles that don't always feel intuitive. Students learn more from being asked to recall something than from having it re-explained to them, even when recall feels harder or less comfortable in the moment (this is called a "desirable difficulty"). We interleave topics rather than drilling one thing at a time, because mixing things up forces students to actually distinguish between similar ideas instead of just recognising a pattern. And we spend time on metacognition too, helping students notice the gap between what feels familiar and what they'd actually be able to produce in an exam, since those two things are surprisingly easy to confuse.
Your first lesson is free. No commitment, no card details, just a chance to see if the tutor and the approach are the right fit before anyone pays for anything.
Lessons run over Jitsi Meet (or in person), and every session is recorded. If a student wants to go back over something a few days later, or a parent wants to see how a lesson went, the recording's there.
